The Bites
For The Bites, the past few years have seemed like a lifetime. After their debut album cracked the Top 40 on Billboardās Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, paving the way for multiple world tours and introducing them to legions of music fans longing to celebrate the rich and colorful tapestry that is rock and roll, the results have been, quite literally, life changing.
āWhen we were only playing shows on the Sunset Strip, it was like we were looking at the world through a paper towel roll,ā says drummer Mark Hylander, referencing the bandās Los Angeles origin story. āIt seems like weāve lived about a hundred different lifetimes since we wrote and recorded that first album. Itās like we are looking at the world with both eyes now, not just one. The blinders are off and we can see all around us.ā
Their sophomore release ā aptly-titled The Bites ā demonstrates their evolution. It is a bold step into the beyond, and is self-titled because it is exactly how the band want to be seen and heard in 2026. Look no further than lead single āAftertaste,ā a modern rock explosion that flips the thrill of the chase upside down and leaves us turned around. Itās something weāve all experienced.
The bright lights of home have been dimmed, and The Bites now speak a universal language. The writing process was a journey of discovery - nothing was off limits, and no inspiration was left unturned. If their debut album was about the Squeeze, The Bites will leave us all enjoying the juice.
āThis is who we are,ā says vocalist Jordan Tyler. āWe canāt wait for people to join us on the ride!ā
