Sergio Mendes & Brasil ʼ66 marked a breakthrough moment for Brazilian pop on the global stage. Blending bossa nova with American pop and soul production, the album introduced a new, polished sound that crossed borders. Its standout track, “Mais Que Nada” (originally by Jorge Ben), became an international hit, cementing Brasil ʼ66 as a key force in the eraʼs crossover music scene.
