In Light It Up, their third release, the powerhouse roots-rock vocalist from Texas and British-American guitar alchemist deliver riveting blues-rock melodies with lyrics that are pure cinema. A treasure trove of originals, there are but two covers: Eurythmicsâ âSweet Dreamsâ reimagined as a blues shuffle with Debâs seductive growl, and the Willie Dixon-penned âSpoonfulâ â a nod to Howlinâ Wold, an idol to Deb and Colin. Chris Butler, the mastermind behind the popular 19980âs band The Waitresses, co-produced and co-wrote many songs on the recording with Deb and Colin, and played both drums and bass on various cuts.
