Initially released shortly after Collinsâ 30th birthday, Face Value was propelled to international multi-Platinum status with the help of the smash hit single âIn The Air Tonightâ. Other notable tracks on the album include the follow-up singles âI Missed Againâ and âIf Leaving Me Is Easyâ, as well as âBehind The Linesâ which was written with Collinsâ Genesis colleagues Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.Â
Featuring the seminal 1981 album, cut at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell, packaged in a newly-designed version of the iconic sleeve, a 20-page booklet with photos, liner notes with a brand-new interview with Phil alongside three other discs of live performances, rarities, remixes, demos. This includes rarities such as stripped back performances of In The Air Tonight and The Roof Is Leaking from The Other Secret Policeman's Ball featuring Phil and guitarist Daryl Stuermer in Phil's first live performance at the piano, alongside two previously unreleased live performances from Perkins Palace in 1982 and Irvine Meadows in 1985, an unreleased outtake of Phil's experimental cover of The Beatles' Tomorrow Never Knows and an previously unreleased full version of Over The Rainbow.
