Cyano is Emily A. Sprague’s first studio solo album since 2020’s Hill, Flower, Fog, following 2025’s Cloud Time, a modular synthesizer album recorded live in Japan, and Double Moon, a 7” single released earlier this year

The album is the first to combine Sprague’s intuitive synthesizer music with the songwriting she’s known for with her band Florist, introducing singing into her previously instrumental persona

Intentionally primitive and minimal, Sprague’s vocals are a static-y transmission that marks a technical and symbolic juncture, with experimental, formless music that deconstructs the more conventional song styles of Florist.
