Heads-up: a hidden gem! In July 1965, at the peak of his career, Jacques Brel recorded a jam session at the Maison de la Radio, during which he delivered a moving rendition of Amsterdam, accompanied only by Gérard Jouannest on piano and Pierre Sim on double bass. The second side features a live recital recorded for the program Discoparade at the Alhambra in 1962, where the artist—now far from his modest beginnings—is accompanied by a piano and a string ensemble.
